We hired Matt Burns to remove and redo our front concrete steps (our home sits on a hill), relay our front concrete walkway, and installation of a new railing.  It was a significant job - 11 steps on a 45 degree hill.  We are very satisfied with the quality of work performed by his team.  

Matt is responsive in communication both via email and the phone, which has been an issue with other contractors I've dealt with.  He did a walk-through with my wife and I both before the job started and again afterwards to ensure our expectations were met.  The initial railing he ordered for us did not match our front porch, so he returned the next day with a custom-made railing that looks great!   

Above all, his estimate was significantly less than other contractors who quoted us, and he is easy to work with.  I'd recommend him for any substantial home improvement job.

Great team and great work! I engaged Matt Burns for a large exterior project on a hill involving three sets of crumbling stone steps and retaining wall failure. His team handled demo and the rebuild perfectly. Very knowledgeable and friendly!

Extremely efficient & professional. Matt and his team at Burns Construction completed the job within a week in a very professional manner. We are more than pleased with the quality of the work. We hired Matt to hardscape our outdoor pool and the surrounding areas in the backyard. He finished this job quickly but thoroughly without nickel & dimeing us over any small issues. Superior quality at a great price! We will definitely be using him again in the future. 

Matt and his crew handled an absolutely enormous job for us - we worked together for over a year to get through planning, variances and permitting, foundation work, coordinating with an outside specialty company, disconnecting and re-running all the utilities, interior work (two new kitchens, two new baths, flooring, walls, paint, windows, doors), and exterior work (concrete block, poured slabs, siding, decks, porches). To say we'd recommend Matt is an understatement. He was responsive, committed, patient, and very kind. There were many shifts and curveballs to deal with, and Matt was right with us each time. His crew were always great to work with and be around as well. I doubt we would've been able to achieve our goal with other contractors - we will forever be grateful to Matt for taking us on.

Excellent work ethic, very reasonable pricing, high quality work. Discusses project with you at minimum twice a day and it's a true conversation - a collaboration - he just wants you to be happy with the project since you are the one living with it ! Very clean work site throughout the day and at end of day. Very respectful of your home and property. We showed him some picture ideas from the Internet and came up with a great solution. He renovated our fireplace, took down the brick to the floor (see pics we posted of before and after). We wanted a mason because wanted to make sure it was structurally sound and weren't gonna have the chimney collapse. After the demo of the old brick, he put up dry wall , patched it, primed it, we picked out trim, went to tile store and he placed the tile. Works quickly, only took 3 days! Reliable. Highly recommended!
